Pilot project with education against monkey pox started in Antwerp (Antwerp)
A pilot project will start in Antwerp on Thursday in which 1,120 people can be vaccinated preventively against the monkeypox virus. It concerns men who have sex with men and have had at least 1 year in the past year. history in Flanders, people who are not infected with the virus are also vaccinated.

A pilot project is now starting in Antwerp in which 1,120 people can initially be vaccinated against monkey pox. The predefined target audience are men who have had sex with men in the past year. They can be vaccinated on Thursday 22 September in the Antwerp vaccination center.
According to the Flemish Minister of Welfare Hilde Crevits, the aim of the pilot project is to reach a target group that is not known to the HIV reference centers. “We want to prepare for the autumn when we expect a new supply of monkeypox vaccines,” said the CD&V minister.
