Election 2022 | I will do everything for one salary, Čižinsky was squirming from questions about the accumulation of functions
“When you become mayor, what all paid functions will you perform? I mean, for example, the position of deputy, mayor of a city district or some other civilian job. So I am asking if you will work for Prague 100 percent,” asked Dana Balcarová, a candidate for the Senate for Prague 6.
Jan Čižinský (Prague to himself) answered as follows: “I guarantee that I will be mayor full-time and for one salary. In Prague, we have a great team that will last 7 arrangements,” he said
The ANO movement in Prague would, for example, have the priority of the parliamentary mandate due to the position of mayor. “I like to do things to the fullest,” explained Patrik Nacher. At the same time, he reminded that he actually did not hear a clear answer from Jan Čižínský whether he would give up his position as mayor of Prague 7 or not.
“I say it very clearly, I will be mayor full-time. Of course, I will not run away from Prague 7, I will be full-time, for one salary,” repeated Mayor Čižinský.
“And you will also be a full-time mayor?” he did not let the moderator stop him. At that, Čižinsky told him again with a smile: “Full-time, for one salary.”
“So you will also be the mayor?” asked the moderator again. Čižinski’s answer is “that team suits the arrangement”. Apparently, the audience didn’t like that anymore, which started booing at that moment.
In the end, however, a partially comprehensible answer was received after all. “I will definitely be part of the team in Prague 7. I don’t want to rule out that I will be mayor, but we will do that after the elections,” said Čižinský, adding that he only rules out the accumulation of salaries.
However, the question raised by the publications was not about salary at all. “It’s like if I said that I will remain an MP, but without a salary, but that is not the answer to the question,” Patrik Nacher concluded the debate.
Svoboda and Hřib argued again
The candidate for the TOGETHER coalition Bohuslav Svoboda also answered the question. “Of course I know what the mayor’s job is, I’ve done it before. To talk about one hundred percent is nonsense, the work goes far beyond one hundred percent,” was his answer.
The current mayor Zdeněk Hři (Pirates) stated that he would like to perform another function in addition to this one. “Being mayor really isn’t something you can do in your lunch break when you pop out of the House of Commons for lunch,” he commented.
With his statement, he has repeatedly alluded to Bohuslav Svoboda, who is a member of the PČR Chamber of Deputies. He has already stated in the past that he will not give up his mandate in case of success in the elections. “I would have the opportunity to speak for Prague in the parliament, which has not achieved anything there,” he said, adding that he doesn’t care how much money is for what. “If I wasn’t an MP, but some other profession, I’d probably make more,” he said.
To this, Zdeněk Hřib responded again, saying that in the nine years that he has been sitting in the parliament, he has not achieved anything anyway. Svoboda and Hřibe got into each other in Tuesday’s iDNES.cz mayoral debate over the Dosimeter case.
Petr Hlaváček (STAN) said that he would fully perform the function of mayor in the same way that I perform the current function of the first square. Hlaváček reminded that he also teaches one subject at the Faculty of Architecture of CTU, which he enjoys very much.
The mayoral position would also be a big responsibility for Milan Urban (SPD). “One must be available 24 hours a day,” he said. Solidarity leader Anna Šabatová reacted the same way.
