The political entity Solidarita pro Praha 5 hides the ČSSD coalition, Živá Praha 5, the Society for the Protection of Prokopské and Dalejské údolí and independents. The leader is Lukáš Budín. Our editors were contacted by a reader who noticed that if a confrontational or negative question appeared on their Facebook, it would disappear. “The mistake of our administrators, who manage social media, and who evaluated the contributions incorrectly,” responded the networks for PrahaIN.cz Budín.
One of the followers of Solidarity for Prague 5 turned to Facebook with a question about Jan Smetana, the number two candidate. She asked how she sees the revitalization of the park on Skalka in Smíchov, which is called the park of drug addicts. Smetana was in charge of this in 2019 when he was a councilor for the ČSSD.
The next question was directed at him again. The voter asked if there was something like “Ferda, all kinds of work” and shared an article with the headline: Party functionary and real estate agent. The new head of the medical establishment of the interior raises doubts, according to the opposition.
But her questions disappeared from the comments.
“You deleted several of my comments and questions about Mr. Smetana. I thought that it was the practice of Mayor Zajíčková only. I would like the town hall to be run by people who are 100 percent known to help Prague 5, whether in environmental protection, against developers and overpriced city contracts,” wrote a resident of Prague 5, saying that Solidarity’s election program is decent.
A debate that subsequently disappeared from the pages.
“We know about Mr. Budín that he helps developers, Mr. Maroušek takes care of Prokopská údolí, but I’m sure I won’t be the only one who would be interested in what, for example, Jan Smetana or David Pavlorek helped Prague 5, who are right behind Mr. Budín,” he adds.
PrahaIN.cz therefore turned to Solidarity for Prague 5 with a question as to why the comments had disappeared.
A mistake that will not be repeated
Lukáš Budín answered almost immediately.
“The fault of our administrators, who manage and who evaluated these posts incorrectly (they simply didn’t know what to do – they responded early in the morning), we really get a lot of troll posts and attacks, and we don’t even know why. In addition, my responses in the discussion of the post you are writing about were also deleted, so I would like to point out again that my posts have also been deleted,” he said.
“Our style is to communicate. It’s difficult, there aren’t many of us and we don’t have a paid team of specialists, maybe that’s why this mistake. And yes, we admit that it was our mistake, but we learned from it and agreed to rectify it,” added Budín.
He apologized to everyone whose comments were deleted.
“I offered all those concerned the possibility of a personal meeting or telephone communication,” adds Budín, adding that they will be careful in the future.
In Prague 5, the mayor is Renáta Zajíčková from the ODS. Socdem failed in the municipal elections in 2018, winning 2.3 percent, but the Society for the Protection of Prokopský almost four percent.
Elections are made on September 23 and 24.
