A week ago, Ursula von der Leyen declared, in the European Parliament, that the European Union “is not whole” as long as Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova, Georgia and the countries of the Western Balkans do not become members.
“I want to say the words to the citizens of the Western Balkans, Ukraine, Moldova and Georgia: you are part of our family, your future is in our Union, and our Union is not complete without you!”said Ursula von der Leyen.
The Republic of Moldova, Ukraine, Albania, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia are currently candidate countries for EU membership.
