Prague 2 presented policemen, policemen and firefighters
Prague 2 continues to support the security forces. Today, the representatives of the town hall – Mayor Alexandra Udženija and Councilor Michal Zuna – handed over symbolic checks in the total amount of 240 thousand crowns to the policemen, policemen and firefighters. The representatives agreed to the allocation of money from the district budget at their June meeting.
“Safety has long been one of the main priorities of our town hall, and we consider ensuring it to be our primary task. Of course, this would not be possible without close cooperation with the security forces. Constables, police officers and firefighters face challenging situations every day on duty. Therefore, they deserve not only our thanks, but also our support. We are continuing this this year as well, helping members of the security forces to get better equipment, helping to solve the housing situation and motivating them with rewards,” explains the support of the Prague 2 City Hall, its mayor Alexandra Udženija.
According to the latest police statistics, crime in Prague 2 is steadily decreasing. However, the day-to-day provision of public order and security costs the city police and the Police of the Czech Republic considerable effort. Both branches, like the fire brigade, have been facing a long-term shortage of serving members.
“We actively support police officers, policemen and firefighters in the personnel area as well. We regularly organize events for children and youth, at which we introduce visitors to their demanding profession and thus enable those interested to obtain more detailed information about employment opportunities. These are preventive and presentation events such as Fun Days with the City Police or Safe Two – Day with the IZS. We help existing constables, policemen and firefighters solve their housing situation through service apartments from the housing stock of the city district. At the end of the year, we also organize a ceremonial meeting for members of the security forces of Prague 2 at the New Town Hall, where we reward the best of them,” adds Michal Zuna, the mayor’s councilor for security.
The security forces handled the 80,000 kroner allowance in their own way. City police officers used the money to refurbish the service gym, police officers modernized computer technology thanks to the contribution, and firefighters bought a device for drying their gear, which will make their daily work easier.
In addition to a financial contribution to improve equipment in the total amount of 240,000 crowns, which was divided among the constables, policemen and firefighters, the representatives at their June meeting also approved the release of other amounts from the municipal budget, in the amount of 350,000 crowns for the motivational rewards of the constables .
