He beat Souček. Schick won the Ballon d’Or poll for the best player of the season
Trojan horse in Slavia? Santos heard the dig, the defense doesn’t work without Holeš
Schick already made the decisive tip last fall, when he scored 826 points and led Souček by more than 200 points. She won the spring part by 173 points. He received a total of 1422 points from the journalists, which is the best result since the 2012/13 season, when former goalkeeper Petr Čech triumphed with 1833 points.
After scoring five goals at the European Championship last summer, Schiček managed to score in the last one as well. In the fall, he scored 16 goals for Leverkusen in the German league, added another eight in the spring, and finished second behind Robert Lewandowski in the Gunners table. He helped Bayer to third place in the Bundesliga table. Schick played only two matches for the national team last year and scored one goal, he missed the unsuccessful play-off for the World Cup as well as the Nations League matches in June due to injury.
Hložek was the best in the Czech league
So far, the former striker of Sparta, Bohemians 1905, Sampdoria Genoa, AS Rome and Leipzig has three goals in 10 competitive games at the end of the current season. With the Schick national team, the last two duels of the League of Nations in the elite group A with Portugal and Switzerland await in the coming days.
A field player won the Ballon d’Or for the third time in a row, while a goalkeeper triumphed nine times between 2010 and 2019. The winner of the previous two seasons, Souček had to settle for second place this time, with a difference of 267 points to the third place. Compared to the autumn part, goalkeeper Vaclík improved in the last results, and thanks to his excellent performances in the national team and winning the Greek title with Olympiakos, he jumped to the third position ahead of midfielder Antonín Barák.
The highest-ranking representative of the Czech league is the sixth forward Adam Adam, who after Hlož transferred from Sparta Prague to Schick in Leverkusen. The reigning champion from Pilsen has only one representative in the elite eleven – eleventh goalkeeper Jindřich Staňek. The national team goalkeeper was the “jumper” of the spring, as he moved up from 33rd place after the fall.

In their place, goalkeeper Staněk, midfielders Barák and Jakub Pešek, defensive all-rounder Michal Sadílek and forward Kuchta were among the best.
