Albertovské steps and Ztracenka park were connected by a new sidewalk | Prague 2 | From the region of | Prague Gossip
A new sidewalk made of natural material connected Albertovské stairs with Ztracenka Park in the Prague 2 area. The connection improved the accessibility of the university campus. According to the management of Prague 2, another place for revitalization is the desolate area between the New Town fortifications and Horská street.
The town hall paid four and a half million for the sidewalk
The Prague 2 district is still continuing a series of revitalizations that will connect the Albertova area with the Folimanka park. “The double parks are rightly among the most visited in Prague. We support their unique beauty by planting new trees, shrubs and plants every year. We are gradually revitalizing parks and green corners so that citizens and visitors to the very heart of the big city find a natural oasis of peace and well-being. The current completion of the pedestrian connection between the Albertovské stairs and the Ztračenka will certainly be welcomed not only by second-rate citizens, but also by Charles University students who are looking for this location.” said the mayor of Prague 2 in a press release Alexander Uzheniya (ODS).
The illuminated walkway along the grounds of the university tennis courts is made of natural crushed material. In addition, the greenery around the sidewalk has been modified, so new trees, shrubs and perennials can be seen on the spot. Seasonal operation of the footpath is the same as in the Ztracenka park itself, i.e. from eight o’clock in the morning to eight o’clock in the evening. The town hall paid approximately 4.6 million crowns including VAT for the revitalization.
The bleak space between the New Town fortifications and Horská Street awaits revitalization
After connecting the Albertovské stairs with the Ztracenka park, the desolate space between the New Town fortifications and Horská Street awaits revitalization. The completely repaired area of Albertova could in the future be included alongside the Baroque Bastion, the Ztracenka Park, the Sunny Side and the Folimanka Park itself among other popular and, according to the management, rest locations.
“We have been paying great attention to the restoration of green areas in the Albertovo area for a long time. On individual projects, we cooperate not only with Charles University and the capital city of Prague, but also with preservationists. We are thus continuing to fulfill the memorandums that we concluded years ago, which commit us to joint progress within the individual stages of the revitalization of the area defined by Horská, Albertov, Ke Karlovu, Apolinařská and Na Slupi streets,” stated in a press release the Deputy Mayor of Prague 2 Václav Vondrášek (ODS), who is in charge of the environment and the area of construction and territorial development and the area of historic preservation.
