Prague has a study for a new district in Nové Dvory, construction will begin in 2027
Part of the construction at Nové Dvory, located in Prague 4 and 12, is also the construction of a new metro station D of the same name.
“Thanks to the fact that the location is owned by the capital city, it will primarily have a residential character, and we will build all the necessary infrastructure for its new residents. After the change in the zoning plan, it will be possible to build up to 2,000 city apartments in Nové Dvory. The construction of the entire district will take place in stages and will take ten years,” said Deputy Mayor Petr Hlaváček (for TOP 09, running for STAN this year).
Construction could begin in 2027. A district with 2,400 apartments for up to 5,500 people will be created on an area of 49 hectares. The floor area will be 350,000 square meters and the building will also include an elementary school, two kindergartens, a cultural center, a polyclinic, facilities for the elderly, a low-threshold center, a post office, established shops and services, and space for sports and recreational areas. Construction should take about seven years and end in 2034.
In the second half of April this year, the Prague Transport Company (DPP) started the construction of the metro from Pankrác on Olbrachtová street, which will be connected by the section to Nové Dvory, where the new station will be located. In the future, trams are also to run to Nové Dvory. DPP is now extending the line from Modřany to Libu, where the line should continue to Nové Dvory.
