Dušek (STAN): Prague 5 supports the construction of parallel tracks. He wants to ensure peace of mind for his residents
The residents of Pětka can now sleep peacefully. The memorandum of understanding and cooperation between Prague 5 and Prague Airport, signed by representatives of both parties, should ensure a noise-free space and minimal impact on the environment.
The key points of the Memorandum are the support of the Prague 5 district for the construction of a parallel railway. A fundamental benefit will be an increase in air traffic safety, as one runway will be used for take-offs and the other for landings.

Whoever will demonstrate after the government’s price ceiling will only demonstrate for a pro-Russian orientation, Kalousek claims. Is right?

Another benefit of this new runway will be the reduction of the negative impact of air traffic over the territory of the fifth district. another important factor in the Memorandum is the fact that today’s 12/30 secondary runway will be canceled after the runway parallel to the main runway is operational and approved.
“At the time of the closure of the main runway this spring, for major repairs, we had dozens, maybe hundreds, of desperate citizens searching to stop flying at night overhead. This is precisely why we support the implementation of a parallel runway, because no one will fly over the head at night, i.e. not even residents of other city districts,” says MgA councilor for foreign relations and business support. David Dušek (STAN).
Noise reduction other than by parallel runways can only be achieved by eliminating older and noisy aircraft from operation at Václav Havel Prague Airport and economically disadvantaging the operation of noisy aircraft in the form of a progressive noise fee based on certificates, as well as allowing only the quietest types of aircraft to operate the airport at night. Night traffic, due to insufficient capacity, simply cannot be banned.
Prague Airport does not forget the residents of Pětka either. It has pledged to offset the impact of its operation on the residents of the fifth borough by providing financial support in accordance with its operational capabilities. At the same time, it monitors several areas of life, such as education, social care, housing and, above all, the environment.
“I welcome that Prague Airport has committed to financially support the language education of children from elementary schools in our district. It will also support areas such as the improvement of residential living conditions, social care and wants to contribute to the improvement of the environment and public space,” says the mayor of the Prague 5 municipality, Mgr. Renáta Zajíčková (ODS).
