David Mareček about the 127th season of the Czech Philharmonic
Again after a year, the director of the Czech Philharmonic, David Mareček, accepted the invitation to the program Music in the Millennium.
The 2022/2023 season will be for Czech Philharmonic for the 127th season. At the opening concerts 28.9. AND 29.9. a Georgian violinist will be the soloist Lisa Batiashvili, who made her debut with the orchestra last year. The artists-in-residence this time will be husband and wife Simon Rattle AND Magdalena Koženáwho present themselves, among other things, at a concert for freedom and democracy 16.11. AND 17.11. and also at a concert with residents 25.2. 2023. As part of the recording activities of the Czech Philharmonic, the project of recording the complete symphonies of Gustav Mahler under the baton of the orchestra’s chief conductor continues. Semyon Byčkov. Another CD from this set, containing Mahler Symphony No. 5will be released this year 14.10. at Pentatone. They remain the principal guest conductors Jakub Hrůša AND Tomas Netopil. These very days (19.9. AND 21.9.) the Czech Philharmonic also plays a concert performance of Dvořák’s opera under the baton of its chief conductor Undine on the festival Dvořák’s Pragueand that along with Prague Philharmonic Choir and excellent soloists.
David Mareček graduated from Conservators Brno piano and conducting, on Janáček Academy of Performing Arts then he continued with piano and doctoral studies in interpretation and theory of interpretation. He was engaged in teaching activities at the ZUŠ, the art gymnasium and the Brno Conservatory, where he also briefly worked as deputy director. He was a playwright and later a director Brno Philharmonic. In 2010, he won the audition for CEO Czech Philharmonic Orchestrahe took up the position on February 1, 2011. Last year, he therefore already celebrated ten years at the head of this institution.
