In the Kampa park, there was a run for Zátopka | PRAGUE 1 | News
This year, Prague 1 City Hall dedicated the annual children’s running race to Emil Zátopek. He would have celebrated his hundredth birthday this year.
” said Eva Špačková, deputy mayor of the Prague 1 district.
On the asphalt track, children competed in categories from three to six years old. In the second one, schoolchildren from 1st to 5th grade competed.
“Little children run about 200 meters, kindergarteners. There, we expect that the teachers will run with the children so that the children do not turn, scatter to the sides, and so on. And the bigger children, they run the circuit, which is about 350 meters long,” said Vít Mařík, co-organizer of the event.
But all the participants of the race took home a medal, regardless of their position.
“The smallest ones have prepared Fidorky, just sweet medals, for the bigger ones the district has prepared beautiful medals,” Mařík added.
The Světozor cinema is also participating in the event, showing the film Zátop again for this occasion. For those who have a long way to go to the cinema, the producers of the film have prepared a simpler version of the screening.
“We have actually made available the possibility to show the film not only again in the cinema, but that Zátopek can also reach schools. You can show it in schools, in gyms through your projectors,” said Daria Špačková, producer of the film Zátopek.
It is not possible to download the movie. However, schools and other interested parties can legally play it via a protected platform. You can order the film on the Zátopek film website.
