Sparta Prague vs. Baník Ostrava: Preview and betting tips
A fan hit of the round and a battle between two struggling teams – this is probably how one could safely interpret the upcoming match of the 9th round of our top competition between Sparta Prague and Baník Ostrava. Will the three points remain in Prague or will the fans expect different results?
Brian Priske’s men are struggling not only with results but also with the game in the last matches of the Fortuna League. The fans blame the Prague team for many inaccuracies in passing, a lot of mistakes, cheap goals and, last but not least, also poor activities on the part of the players themselves.
Of course, in different parts of the game. And apparently there is nothing to be surprised about, Sparta collected only four points in the last four rounds, when they drew with Bohemians, Jablonec, Zlín and lost the very last match at Teplice.
Sparta Prague’s reinforcements are also a big disappointment, they have only played a few matches so far. Even so, much more was expected from Jakub Jankt, Jan Kuchta is stumbling with a very bad form. However, Kryštof Daněk was a pleasant surprise, who, on the other hand, caught quite decently and at the moment it can be said that he is the driving force of the Spartan reserve.
So far, coach Priske is relying on Tomáš Čvančara in the attack, who netted four goals in 7 matches and is the best scorer of Prague.
Baník Ostrava’s current form is a bit worse, even though they beat Pardubice 3:0 last time on their field. In the last five matches, however, he won only once, recorded two draws with Hradec Králové and Jablonec, and lost twice.
It should be noted that since the beginning of the new league season, Pavel Vrba’s men have only won two games, while Baník has not yet lost away from home.
The management of the Silesian team recently brought in two reinforcements (Plavšič, Cadu), which immediately significantly improved Baník’s performance. In the course of the season so far, however, the Ostravas have faced big problems in the passing game, a really dismal performance, little activity and, above all, the defense burned like paper.
It should be noted that Baník greatly affected several key players. And that whether it is Ladislav Almási in attack or Jaroslav Svozil in defense. The best scorer of the Ostrava club is Nemanja Kuzmanovič with three goals.
So how will this match play out? This is very difficult to predict due to the form of both units. However, the fact remains that Sparta can simply beat Baník at home. Ostrava’s last success at Letná was in 2017, in the round of 16 of the MOL Cup (3:2). Otherwise, Sparta won every time.
It is therefore very damaging that, despite the suffering of the game, Sparta will win again and all three bodies will remain in Prague.
