Military commission Romania-Republic of Moldova, works in Chisinau
The 7th meeting of the Military Commission Romania-Republic of Moldova took place, between September 14-16, in Chisinau.
The meeting was officially opened by the secretary of state in the field of defense policy, national defense planning and military interoperability from Chisinau, Valeriu Mija, together with his counterpart from Bucharest, Simona Cojocaru.
The Secretary of State from Bucharest emphasized, in his intervention, the importance of cooperation in the field of defense between Romania and the Republic of Moldova, representing one of the pillars of the Strategic partnership between the two states.
Likewise, Simona Cojocaru appreciated the quality and constant character of the bilateral dialogue both at the high level and at the working level.
At the same time, during the discussions between the experts from the two delegations, the status of the projects proposed during the last meeting, from November 2021, was analyzed, as well as the initiation of new cooperation projects in the fields of cyber defense, joint training, military education, logistics, military medicine and the participation of the Republic of Moldova in the projects subsumed regional SEDM initiatives and within the UN missions.
During the same visit, the official from Bucharest had meetings with the Minister of Defense from Chisinau, Anatolie Nosatîi, the Chief of the General Staff, Brigadier General Eduard Ohladciuc, the State Secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Ruslan Bolbocean, as well as with representatives of the NATO Liaison Office in Chisinau.
During the activities, Romania’s firm and concrete support in the European field of the Republic of Moldova was reiterated and concrete actions that can contribute to the development of relations with Euro-Atlantic structures were discussed.
