Mělnicko scores: In the final of the prestigious competition is the construction of a farm in Vraná
There are also so-called civic amenities – for example, the revitalization of housing estates in Petřiny or the new Nymburk footbridge for cyclists and pedestrians.

The competition has been entered 255 projectswhich are divided into several categories – new construction, family house, reconstruction, interior, landscape architecture, urban planning and architectural design.
“If a high-quality project that could be awarded in one category is not submitted, the prize will not be awarded to the category,” said Oleg Haman, chairman of the Community of Architects.
From the fifty finalists, the jury will select the overall winner and the prize-winners in the individual categories. This year, the award for eco-friendly construction will be awarded again, in cooperation with the Czech Council for Eco-Friendly Buildings, which was first awarded in 2020. And the hitherto secretive personality of Czech architecture will receive the award for lifetime achievement. The announcement ceremony will take place in November at the Trade Fair Palace.

The jury has five members and is chaired by the French architect Jean-Pierre Carniaux. “The judges evaluate individual works independently and each has only one vote. So the project must really convince the jurors and get a vote from at least three or four of them,” said Haman. Jury members must see all projects in person.
The competition was founded by professor Alena Šrámková, who is known as the first lady of Czech architecture, in 1993 as the president of the Community of Architects. The community of architects is an association with a tradition since 1921, in 1989 it was transformed from the Union of Architects, and between 1990 and 1993 it was suitable for the establishment of the professional organization of the Czech Chamber of Architects.
