… Cycling seems a matter of course, but in many countries around the world it is also a political signal. Ten years ago, courageous women started the first “Fancy Woman Bike Ride” in Izmir, Turkey, to draw attention to the discrimination of women – including on the road. On Sunday, September 18th, there will be cycling in 200 cities worldwide, 30 federal states will be there. For the first time in Hanover, women will also be saddled up for a tour together: the start is at 2 p.m. on the north bank of the Maschsee. The dress code? The organizers Maike Feldner and Selay Gelmis wish for “fancy, chic or wild”.

… on Sunday, September 18, we dive into the supposedly ideal world of the North Frisian village of Brikebüll, where Dörte Hanse’s bestseller “Mittagsstunden” is set. From 4 p.m. in the cinema on Raschplatz, director Lars Jessen will be presenting his film adaptation – even before it opens in cinemas, he will explain the background to the audience and talk about the shooting. Charly Hübner (“Polizeiruf 110”) plays the university lecturer Ginger Feddersen, who returns home after many years. And finds that everything has changed.
