There are limited trains, delays of more than half an hour between Miskolc and Budapest
It is still not possible to travel from the Keleti útudvar to the Budapest-Hatvan-Miskolc line by direct train due to the traffic obstacles caused by the weather – read the latest announcement of Mávinform. The four stormy weather conditions damaged the overhead line between Kőbánya upper and Rákos on both tracks. On Thursday evening, only one track runs with significant restrictions on trains. Trains are expected to be able to run on the above two tracks around 8 p.m., Mávinform informed our portal. They are also working on the restoration of the overhead line between Rákos and Pécel, it is expected that train traffic can start there as well. Thus, trains cannot run, passengers are transported by substitute buses.
Delays of 30-40 minutes can still be expected
You can travel from Keleti railway station to Rákos with the Szolnok or Békéscsaba trains. You can travel from Rákos to Pécel by train replacement bus. Agria InterRégio trains can be used from Pécel station. At 60, they can transfer to Füzesabony, Miskolc, Szerencs, Tokaj, Nyíregyháza, Debrecen, Szolnok, Tokaj trains going to Budapest-Nyugati railway station. Sixty people can travel further with the Hernád-Zemplén InterCity trains to Mezőkövesd, Miskolc, Szikszó, Forró-Encs, Hidasnémet, Kassa, and Szerencs, Sárospatak, Sátoraljaújhely, Mávinform reads. “There are still delays on the affected section, an average of 30-40 minutes can be expected,” our portal told Mávinform’s customer service, who also added that the repairs have already begun on the affected section, so that they can be restored by tomorrow.
