Energy supplier from Frankfurt adjusts natural gas tariff again
Due to the energy crisis and inflation, energy supplier Mainova from Frankfurt recently lowered the prices – and will change the tariff again from November.
Frankfurt – Energy prices in Germany continue to rise. Natural gas in particular is becoming increasingly expensive – also for Mainova customers. In addition to the reduction in VAT on gas (from 19 to 7 percent), the planned brake on energy prices should also bring some relief. The bottom line is that customers of the Frankfurt energy supplier now expect another price increase.
Frankfurt energy supplier Mainova working price for natural gas
Mainova had already announced price increases for October 2022 in July. The energy supplier is now adjusting its tariff again. For the basic tariff “Manova Erdgas Classic”, the following new prices will apply from November 1, 2022, such as the Mainova on Wednesday (September 14) in Frankfurt shared:
- The energy price increases by 0.03 cents per kilowatt hour to 15.47 cents per kilowatt hour (gross, including 7 percent VAT)
- The basic price drops by 9.57 euros to 85.33 euros (gross, incl. 7 percent VAT) per year
Specifically, this means: Mainova customers with an average annual consumption of 12,000 kilowatt hours pay 1,941.73 euros (gross) per year. According to a company spokeswoman, this roughly corresponds to the consumption in a 100 to 120 square meter apartment.
On July 1, 2022, these 12,000 kilowatt hours would have cost 1,450.90 euros (gross), Mainova explained on request. The latest tariff adjustment also corresponds to an increase of around 490 euros. The reduced VAT rate applies to the working price and the basic price from October 1, 2022.
The main reason for the price adjustments is the new, state-regulated gas procurement levy. In addition, the new levy under the Energy Industry Act has been taken into account. According to the energy supplier, this will pass on the costs resulting from the statutory filling level requirements for gas storage to all gas customers.
“Furthermore, Mainova passes on the increased balance sheet charge on the natural gas price to cover the shortfall from the use of control and balancing energy,” said the company from Frankfurt. Mainova does not benefit from these charges as an energy supplier.
Energy crisis in Frankfurt: Energy supplier Mainova offers installment payments
Mainova also offers installment payments to customers who are having financial difficulties. Information is also provided about offers of help from third parties and, if necessary, contact persons are made available who can advise on the possibilities of financial support. These are, for example, the consumer centers, the job center and the social welfare offices. (Crate)
