Schools and nursing homes in Prague 7 were modernized over the summer

Primary and kindergarten schools in Prague 7 are undergoing major repairs and renovations. Energy operations were also modernized in eight school buildings, thanks to which the district will save at least 2.32 million crowns a year on gas, electricity and water costs. The mayor of Prague 7 Jan Čižinský (Praha 7 Sobě) informed about it.
“For the last two election periods, we have been devoting ourselves to the reconstruction of the old buildings of our schools and schools. We expand capacity, replace electrical wiring, renovate kitchens and dining rooms, repair roofs and insulate facades. I am glad that this year we managed to complete several long-term large projects. At the same time, we have implemented the modernization of energy operations over the summer, which will bring us significant savings,” said Čižinský.
In ZŠ Strossmayerovo náměstí and ZŠ Korunovační, the final stage of the complete reconstruction of electrical wiring was completed in the summer, the electrical wiring in Tusarova Elementary School is also undergoing renovation.
In primary school Fr. Plamínková is undergoing roof reconstruction. In ZŠ TG Masaryk on Orten Square, an extensive modernization of the catering business has been completed. The reconstruction of several classrooms also took place in ZŠ Letohradská, and in FZŠ Umělecká, cabinets were rebuilt for a new classroom.
“I thank all principals, teachers and other school employees for their great commitment and parents and children for their patience with the work, which needs to be used even during the operation of schools. We are doing our best to ensure that the work interferes with the running of the school as little as possible,” said Prague 7 councilor for education and training Hana Šišková (Praha 7 Sobě).
“I am very happy that we were able to complete two large projects for the improvement of kindergartens by the end of the summer, namely the reconstruction of the Janovské Kindergarten and the insulation of the kindergarten on Orten Square. We are currently completing a new kindergarten class for 24 children in Varhulíková Street, which will be available at the end of September,” added Šišková.
In addition, eight schools and three nursing homes underwent modernization over the summer, which will allow Prague 7 to reduce gas, electricity and water costs by 12 percent. which now represents 2.32 million crowns per year. since the town hall has decided to use energy services with guarantee (EPC) methods, the savings are contractually guaranteed for 12 years.
“During the project, the city will save at least 2 million crowns, compared to the reference year 2019. In reality, however, this amount will be much higher, as energy prices have risen significantly in the meantime,” added Prague 7 Deputy Mayor Kamil Vavřinec Mareš (Praha 7 Sobě). who is in charge of managing the property of the municipal district.
According to him, savings will be generated by three renovated gas boiler rooms, new LED lighting and modernization of the measurement and regulation system. Sewerage will also be reduced by 400 thousand crowns thanks to the installation of toilet stops and aerators.
The installation of the so-called computer IRC system (Individual Room Control, author’s note) in six elementary schools will bring the most significant cost savings. Its task is to monitor the temperature set according to the use of the given space.
