The number of lanes reserved for buses, IZS units and taxis is constantly growing. In some places, these lanes are completely forbidden to ordinary drivers, in other places the ban on entering them is limited by a time span. According to the law, motorcycles and scooters are also prohibited from entering these lanes. But that will change from the new year.
The Deputy Mayor for Transport Adam Scheinherr informed that with the beginning of the new year in Prague, drivers of motorbikes and scooters can use these lanes without fear of a fine. “From the new year, it will be possible to ride scooters and motorbikes in dedicated bus lanes. Scooters in particular are an excellent means of transport into the city. We want to increase safety in these traffic environments so that the people of Prague do not have to drive between buses and cars,” he wrote
The novelty still needs to be discussed by the relevant authorities, however, according to the name, nothing should stand in the way of approval.

Until then, however, both motorists, motorcyclists and test riders can expect a fine in the event of an inspection and unauthorized driving in the lane reserved for buses. It is a non-pointable offense with a financial rate of 1,500 to 2,500 CZK. And fines can now be handed out by the city police, who until recently had to call the state police for this offense or refer them to administrative proceedings.
