Mustafa Sentop is on an official visit to the Republic of Moldova
Mustafa Şentop, the president of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), is on a visit to the capital of Moldova, Chisinau.
The first meeting during Sentop’s visit was with the president of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Igor Grosu.
Referring during the discussions to the Gagauz people living in the region, Sentop noted that they create a special bond between the two countries. Mustafa Sentop noted: “The Gagauz people living in Moldova create a special bond in our relations and are a bridge of friendship between our countries.”
The President of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, Grosu, requested Turkey’s support in the energy crisis expected in Europe in the winter months and conveyed the request of the Government of the Republic of Moldova to use the Southern Corridor which is a natural gas supply route from the Caspian region and the Middle East in Europe.
During the reception of the heads of the committees of the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova, the president of the TBMM made a warning about the schools of the Fetullahist terrorist organization (FETÖ), which led the coup attempt on July 15, 2016 in Türkiye.
He emphasized that the 5 FETO schools operating in Moldova pose a risk to the security of the country.
The President of the Türkiye Parliament, Mustafa Şentop, also met with Moldovan Prime Minister Natalia Gavriliţă.
After his meetings in the capital Chisinau, Sentop will go to Comrat, the capital of UTA Gagauzia.
