“I would like to tell you that the Financial Supervisory Authority at the beginning of the collaboration with the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, with the National Bank, with the Supervisory Authority of the capital market, in order to harmonize the legislation of the Republic of Moldova with the Romanian legislation, so that MAIB is listed in a very short time.
Our (Moldovan) colleagues have been in Romania since yesterday, at the ASF, they came with their homework and we are already working together in this regard. It will not be easy, but it is our duty to identify all the solutions, so that things move as quickly as possible… I hope that the role of the ASF, in the relations with the partners in the Republic of Moldova, will be an effective one and at the same time we will have wishes”, declared Nicu Marcu, the president of the Financial Supervisory Authority (ASF), at the Moldova-Romania Forum: Capital Bridges.

Moldova Agroindbank (Maib) is the largest bank in Moldova, with a market share of 32.7% in deposits, respectively a share of 35.5% in loans granted by the entire banking system in the first semester of 2022.
The bank is of systemic importance and serves almost a third of the country’s population.
