ALL ANTWERP. “Doing shopping at the locals on the Turnhoutsebaan is wonderful” (Antwerp)
Every weekday our reporter and photographer pick a casual passer-by off the street for a nice conversation. Want everyone has a story. And certainly in Antwerp. Today: Julie Van Cutsem (31).
“I sport a lot. I have a racing bike but I don’t ride it often and intensively enough. It would be nicer if I could do that more. My love has one and convinced me to buy one too. I just love being outside. I’m not in shape to cycle 100 kilometers yet, but I like being in nature.”
“We took the bike with us on holiday and that way you really get to beautiful places. Here in Antwerp we still have to discover the area a bit. My love is originally from Maasmechelen, I from Leuven and we have come here for work. We’ve only been living here for a few months. I do like the multicultural aspect: shopping on the Turnhoutsebaan in all those small shops. I also think Bar Leon is fantastic. The Trix and the Roma are nearby… I’m convinced. I finally come from a village next to Leuven, but I am used to life in the city.”
“I worked in Barcelona for three years as an HR consultant. I went for six months but stuck. It was not so easy to come back to a small town like Leuven, but here in Antwerp I find my way back.” coat
