Alex Albon left hospital in Milan
Williams driver Alex Albon left San Gerardo Hospital in Milan on Tuesday where he was admitted on Saturday September 10 to treat appendicitis.
Admitted to Milan hospital to treat appendicitis, Alexander Albon suffered laparoscopic surgery which went well, butAfter the operation, the Thai suffered from ‘unexpected’ post-operative complications which led to respiratory failure, a known but uncommon complication. He was then re-intubated and then transferred to intensive care.
His state of health improved overnight from Saturday to Sunday and the mechanical ventilation could be removed on Sunday morning. He was then transferred to general service which he was finally able to leave on Tuesday, the Williams team confirmed to the BBC.

Albon is therefore back home in Monaco and will now observe a short recovery period before being able to fly to Singapore for the next round of the championship scheduled for the end of September.
Last weekend at Monza Albon was replaced by Dutchman Nyck de Vries at the wheel of the Williams and the Grove team are not ruling out putting De Vries back in the car for the Grand Prix of Singapore if ever the state of health of Alex Albon does not allow him to travel so far. The British team will make a decision within a few days.
