San Marino. Seniors in the gym: gentle gymnastics courses are underway
Among the reasons that placed San Marino among the top five countries in the world for longevity, there is certainly an increasing attention of the elderly population to physical and sporting activity.
Thus begins a press release by CDLS. “This is demonstrated by the intense activity of the” Vita Sana “sports club, the association of pensioners that for several years has been organizing” gentle gymnastics “courses for the elderly and people who need them, with the aim of improving and preserving the most health and a good quality of life as long as possible.
“There are over three hundred members – explain the secretaries of the Pensioners Federations of the CSU Elio Pozzi (FUPS-CSdL) and Pier Marino Canti (FNPS-CDLS) – who every week follow the courses organized by the Vita Sana association in all the Castles of the Republic. A meritorious activity, which in recent years has contributed to positioning San Marino among the first places in terms of life expectancy: 81.9 years for men, 84.4 for women. Physical activity is one of the cornerstones of the strategy indicated by the World Health Organization to save health and at the same time culturally change the concept of aging and see the elderly not as a problem but as a resource for society “.
The courses will start on Thursday 22 September in Serravalle in the Multieventi Gym. In Chiesanuova the appointment is set for Monday 3 October in the elementary school gymnasium. Same date for Gualdicciolo, where the courses will be held in the multipurpose room of the Acquaviva Castle. On Tuesday 4 October it is Murata’s turn and the appointment is at the elementary school gym. For information contact the CSU Retired Federations: Fups-CSdL 0549-962032 and Fnps-CDLS 0549-962020 ”.
