New managing director for the Swiss Digital Initiative in Geneva
Fathi Derder (51) follows Niniane Paeffgen in the management of the Swiss Digital Initiative (SDI) foundation in Geneva. Paeffgen left the foundation after three years in November at his own request.
Fathi Derder sat for the FDP from 2011 to 2019 in the National Council. He had a brief engagement as editor-in-chief of the business newspaper “L’Agefi” in 2018. Derder resigned after a year as editor-in-chief and a board delegate.
Among other things, he was managing director and co-founder of the Swiss Food & Nutrition Valley. “With the cross-stakeholder ‘Geneva Digital Initiative’, Derder is particularly committed to strengthening international Geneva in the areas of digitization and digital trust,” writes the foundation about its commitment.
The Swiss Digital Initiative Foundation was created in 2019 as a result of the first “Swiss Global Digital Summit” on ethics and fairness in the digital age, which was held under the patronage of the Federal Council Ueli Maurer and was carried out by digitalswitzerland.
In 2021, the SDI launched the label for digital responsibility, the “Digital Trust Label”, as part of the World Economic Forum (WEF).
