Bomb threat against Danish gay bar
Terror
The gay bar Jailhouse in Copenhagen was evacuated on Sunday evening after a bomb threat. – To you who cannot let the rest of us dance in peace – may your fox itch and your arms be too short to reach it, says general manager Niels Lautrup Holm.
On Sunday around 18:30, the Jailhouse in Copenhagen was evacuated after a bomb threat was called in to the well-known gay bar.
The staff must have contacted the police as soon as they received the threat and the police arrived only a short time later. They evacuated guests and staff and blocked off the gate. Since the shooting outside the London Bar in Oslo on June 25, the police in Copenhagen have closely followed potential queer terror targets in Copenhagen.
– Early in the evening we were contacted by phone and told that we were going to be bombed – because we are gay, says general manager Niels Lautrup Holm in a statement on Facebook.
– It is a disgusting fact that lhbtqia+ people are still persecuted in 2022. To you who cannot let the rest of us dance in peace – may your fox itch and your arms be too short to reach it. We dance on and never let ourselves be cowed.
The police must have moved in with bomb dogs and left after three hours, as no bomb was found in the room. The staff then chose to open the doors again because they “didn’t want to be cowed”, bar manager Niels Holm tells the Danish news site Out & About.
