39th edition of European Heritage Days in Pas-de-Calais

Visit of the prefecture and sub-prefecture of Saint-Omer
On the occasion of the 39th edition of the “European Heritage Days”, the hotel and the park of the prefecture of Pas-de-Calais as well as the hotel of the sub-prefecture of Saint-Omer will be open to the public.
Visit of the Pas-de-Calais prefecture hotel (Place de la préfecture – 62 000 ARRAS)
The hotel and the park will be accessible Sunday September 18, 2022 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Public entrance will be through the Cour Jean Moulin. For security reasons, a visual search of the bags may be carried out.
Tours organized free of charge and without prior registration
- Guided tours of the hotel and the prefecture park will be offered free of charge to the public at 10:15 a.m., 11:15 a.m., 2:30 p.m., 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. Jacques Billant, prefect of Pas-de-Calais, will take part in the visit at 10:15 a.m. Journalists who would like to follow this visit by his side.
- Free visits are also possible on a delimited route.
Visitors discover the hall, the vestibule, the dining room, the living room as well as the office of the prefect (former company room). They will also have access to the former deliberation room of the Departmental Council. The visit to the park will also allow them to discover the classical French garden, the vegetable garden and the orchard.
Family entertainment throughout the day
- A photo contest will be offered to the public. The photos will be published on the Facebook (@prefetpasdecalais) and Instagram (@prefecture62) pages of the prefecture. *
- A treasure hunt will be set up for children. *
- Finally, an exhibition of photographs, on the theme “the women and men of the Ministry of the Interior in the Great War”, will be displayed.
Visit of the hotel of the sub-prefecture of Saint-Omer (43, rue Saint-Bertin, 62 500 SAINT-OMER)
The hotel of the sub-prefecture of Saint-Omer (main courtyard, ground floor, living room, office of the sub-prefect, terrace and gardens) will be open to the public Saturday, September 17, 2022 (reservation required at the Pays de Saint-Omer tourist and convention office – 03 21 98 08 51)
Guided tours will take place at 9 a.m., 10 a.m., 11 a.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5 p.m. at the residence of the sub-prefect.
Visit of the hotel of the sub-prefecture of Montreuil (Hotel de Bernes De Longvilliers, 62 170 Montreuil)
The hotel of the sub-prefecture of Montreuil (courtyard, vestibule, dining room, large living room, former minister’s bedroom) will be open to the public during two guided tours, Saturday September 17, 2022 at 10:30 a.m. and 11:30 a.m. (registration recommended at the Montreuil-sur-Mer tourist office – 03 21 06 04 27).
