The tones of film music echoed through Kinski’s garden | PRAGUE 5 | News
Jurassic Park, Indiana Jones, Mafia or Harry Potter, but also the Formula 1 anthem or Boyard Fortress. Several people came to listen to the notorious melodies performed by the Prague Film Orchestra in Kinsky Garden in Prague 5.
None other than the founder of the Prague Film Orchestra – Jiří Korynta took up the baton. We caught up with him on stage shortly after the dress rehearsal.
“Actually, I’ve lived film music since I was a child, I grew up with a classical education, I like classical music, but I just started playing jazz, metal, electronics and so on, and that film was beautiful to me, such a combination of those genres together. In addition, I have been a big fan of John Williams since I was a child, so the film was a clear choice for me,” described the conductor and founder of the Prague Film Orchestra, Jiří Korynta.
The management of Prague 5 Town Hall did not miss the cultural experience.
“This concert will culminate the anniversary celebrations, the centenary of the connection of Smíchov to greater Prague, so I hope that the concert will be a success, that the lightning and rain will have left us and that we will all enjoy the beautiful, cinematic melodies,” said the mayor of the Prague 5 district, Renáta Zajíčková.
“This is actually the third year that we are organizing it and I have to say that I am very happy that we are organizing such cultural events and that we actually have enough funds in the budget to support culture, because of the two In previous years, you can see that people are interested in it, that they enjoy it, I come here in large numbers. And I would actually like to thank everyone who showed up during the organization of this event and the sponsors, and of course the Prague Orchestra, which provides us with such a cultural experience,” added Jan Kavalírek, councilor of the Prague 5 district.
A surprise was the appearance of the first deputy mayor of Prague 5, Lukáš Herold. He and the orchestra cut one of Ennio Morricone’s most famous compositions – Gabriel’s Oboe.
“I came to it here like a blind person to the violin. I was just a donkey if I wanted to play with the film orchestra, because I went back to the oboe, so here I have a moment where I play Morricone’s Gabriel’s Oboe, which is a wonderful piece by probably the most famous composer of film music, so I I’m really looking forward to it,” said Lukáš Harold, the 1st deputy mayor of the fifth district, with humility.
The Prague Film Orchestra’s concert, which was free for visitors to Kinsky Garden, attracted hundreds of people. They then appreciated the approximately one-hour cultural experience with a several-minute standing ovation.
