The Simpson family will also be used by children in the new creative extension center
Clem Didaktikon is not only a creative way to bring scientific knowledge and fields to the university, but also to teach pedagogical know-how, says Vice-Rector for External Relations of Charles University Martin Vlach. I dare to say that the Didaktikon concept will be unique not only in Prague, but also in the Czech Republic, he added.
The Simpsons and the video game
Didaktikon will offer a total of ten different wolf exhibitions and installations, which can be visited both individually and by the general public, on 800 square meters of space.
Everyday children need to be taught new knowledge and information in a fun and smart way that will interest them. The academics therefore enlist the help of the Simpson family in one of the exhibitions. Few people know that in addition to freedom, you can also find re-use in the series.
Among the protagonists of this animated series are scientists, for example mathematicians, physicists or computer scientists. And those serilov vtpka are often so hidden thanks to the candy. At first glance, people may not notice it, but upon closer inspection we will find it, explains co-author of the exhibition and expert guarantor of Didaktikon Tereza Martnkov Brtlov from the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics of Charles University.
First, children can find these interesting things in several clips downloaded from the series. Thematically, the exposition will deal with, for example, mathematics or verticals, but also epidemiology, because like many other world events, the coronavirus pandemic was also predicted by the Simpsons.
together with Lza and Brt through the minigolf tournament, they can learn the basics of the axes of darkness. With Homer, they can then try to solve a logistical puzzle with a wolf, a goat and an animal, which must be gradually transferred from one run to another so that no one is on one of the runs. Only in this case it is about little Maggie, the dog of the Savior and the time with poison. Who will I catch today singing the goat, the wolf and the cabbage? But if Maggie is saved, I’ll take anyone, Mr. Brtlov.
In addition to serials, children can also learn with the help of board games in Didaktikon. In one of the exhibitions, children can try, for example, the Czech game Attentat 1942, in which the player takes on the role of a character who discovers the reasons why his grandfather was executed by the Gestapo.
The game takes place in the protectorate and describes the fate of many people. It is not only a teacher with the game, but also a way to empathize with the game. It turns out that the game supports intergenerational dialogue, because children usually play it together with their parents, and then talk to each other, according to Ondej Trho from the Czech military studio Charles Games, who is behind the pot game.
What would Hawking say?
A place where, in addition to children, teachers can relax is the Automat installation at the Philosophical Theater. Here he learned how to stage a so-called philosophical theater with his own hands. Each of the children in the frame of the game represents some great person from the past, to whom he must become involved. Together with the others, then debate the issues that this personality has never dealt with in his practice. How such a theater worked is demonstrated in the short videos.
Apart from the theater, anyone here can answer any of the ten questions that students of various faculties of Charles University have come up with, and I will compare the answers. It’s so easy to get your point of view on whether democracy is an ideal type of government, or what love itself is. The teaching of philosophy at colleges should only be meaningful when it thematizes questions that are really important, notes Matj Krl from the state of philosophy and religious studies at Charles University.
At the end of the exhibition, a linguistic game called Last Speak will be added.
