In Siena, the construction site in two pavilions of the former San Niccol psychiatric hospital begins
The inspection was carried out yesterday for the start of the redevelopment works of the Kraepelin and Chiarugi pavilions, located in the complex of the San Niccol psychiatric hospital in Siena.
The Kraepelin will host the Center for mental health and home care for nurses, in the Chiarugi pavilion which will be recovered, at a later time, to accommodate ten hospice beds and ten intermediate care beds. The “Chiarugi” will then be used as a community hospital with a project financed by the NRP for over 2.5 million euros.
The president of the Tuscany Region, present at the inspection with the regional councilor for the right to health, expressed his appreciation for this important project, the first in Tuscany with also Pnrr resources. In this first phase, an investment of over 6 and a half million euros is envisaged, financed for more than 5 and a half million by the state through the lex art. 20 of Law 68/88, for 600 thousand euros by the Tuscany Region and for 550 thousand euros. euro from ASL Toscana southeast. This is a virtuous behavior that places the city of Siena as an example of planning, timeliness and speed in the use of the resources of the NRP.
Appreciation also by the councilor for the right to health of the Tuscany Region on the recovery project of the two pavilions thanks to which Siena projected into the new dimension by the Pnrr. Ten hospice beds and ten intermediate care beds, together with the community hospital, will constitute an integrated pole of integrated care.
The president and the lassore thanked the managerial and technical structure of ASL Toscana southeast for their efforts, starting with the general manager. The latter highlighted that the recovery of the Chiarugie del Kraepelin represents an important step for the Sienese territorial health, which will then be flanked by the rearrangement of the building in Viale Sardegna which belonged to the Province of Siena.
