As part of the second round of the DHL Extraliga Juniors, the Spartans visited Třinec, where they wanted to follow up on their previous win with Pilsen. However, coach Richard Žemlička’s men lost three goals in the match and despite two goals by Michal Vitouch, they were not enough to beat the opponent. Our team lost 2:4 in Třinec and will fight for more points on Saturday, September 10 in Vítkovice.
Comment
The Spartans entered the match on the Třinec ice not very active, and the home team rejoiced at the goal scored after only six minutes. Šilar found the ready with his pass Patrick Volas, who headed into the top of the goal and didn’t give Liemann a chance to shoot. The local hockey players continued their activity and in fifteen minutes the score was two goals. Oskar Haas he performed the best of the best in the attacking zone and sent his team to a two-goal lead. The Spartans couldn’t keep up in the first period and there was very little left for the Třinec hockey players to prevail for the third time. However, Sparta was saved by the stick.
The home hockey players continued their activity in the second part, in which they played a power play from the edge. Červenka went to the penalty bench for irritation and gave the opponent the opportunity to score the third goal of the match. When the Spartans defended their weakness, they finally got the chance to test their numerical advantage. Hrůzek was guilty, like Červenka, of irritation, but the Spartans simply despised their numerical superiority. Jan Bartos got into the break in his own weakness and cleared the puck into the goal without any problems. In the rest of the second half, Haas could have scored, but the puck again only went into the post.
At the start of the third period, the people of Prague played another weakness after an illegal intervention by Bareš, but in the first ten minutes of the third act they were finally more active. Michal Vitouch drove into a good shooting position in the attacking zone, from which he sent the puck into the goal and reduced the difference to two goals. And it was even merrier when Michal Vitouch with his shot from the circle, he put the Kings through with a ground shot and the home team led by just one goal. He added peace to the Třinec hockey sticks in the 53rd minute Patrick Volas, who didn’t give Liemann a chance to make an interception in a five-on-three power play. At the end of the match, our team tried a game without a goalkeeper, which did not lead to anything significant. The Spartans lost to Trinec 2:4.
Testimonials from coaches
René Mucha (HC Ocelarí Třinec): “We have to praise the whole team for their work. From our side, it was also reflected in the goals. What we wanted from the boys was really in the game. Unfortunately, we made a few mistakes and unnecessary mistakes. We got the opponent into the game. He didn’t help us at that moment the goal wasn’t even 3-0, the opponent was more active, we had some chances. But the opponent was on the disc, which we didn’t want. For a while we stuck to the game from the first period, then we went back to mistakes. We let the opponent get to the touchline But we fought and the fourth goal helped us. There will be many games like this and we are glad that the boys put their hearts into it.”
Richard Žemlička (HC Sparta Prague): “In the first two periods, we were not on the ice at all, and Třinec was better. In the third period, we had an excellent start and scored two goals. Unnecessary fouls unfortunately deprived us of the difference of one goal. We got a goal and we could not reverse the result.”
