Yamaha, Roland, Fender and more. After years, Prague has a music fair
After 13 years, a music fair will take place in Prague. It arose from an event called Festiwall and takes place from this Friday, September 9th to Sunday, September 11th at the Kytary.cz company premises in Modřany.
On an area of 1,400 square meters, interested parties will see an exhibition of representatives of the world and domestic music industry, they can visit concerts and workshops or an exhibition of the famous guitarist Radim Hladík, which was lent by his son. Hladík died six years ago at the age of sixty-nine.
“Musicians, producers, lovers of music and instruments, as well as teachers from elementary art schools and others will see renowned multinational giants as well as smaller Czech manufacturers and guitarists in one place. They will find out what is new in music technologies, but also in musical instrument manufacturers,” he says Filip Černý, marketing director of Kytary.cz.
Representatives of the brands Yamaha, Roland, Fender, Hammond, Ibanez, Meinl, Tama, Hohner, Nord and Taylor will arrive at the fair. The professional public can also look forward to smaller domestic manufacturers of guitars and equipment for musicians.
At the same time as the music fair, the three-day Festiwall event takes place in the same location. In addition to the concert tribute to Radim Hladík, for example, a British guitar YouTuber will introduce himself Chris Buck and his band Cardinal Black, the fusion-jazz-metal group takes over the main stage Panzerballet with guest drummer Virgil Donati. Guitarists will also come Larry Basilio AND Yasi Hofer.
The Czech scene will be represented by Jiří Schmitzer, drummer Miloš Meier, singer-songwriter Justin Lavash or YouTube duo #kumst.
Musicians and bands alike can attend an on-site seminar in music management, international tour planning, digital music distribution, or production and sound design. Leading Czech performers and producers such as Michal Pavlíček, Petr Ostrouchov, Beata Hlavenková and Lukáš Chromek will share their experiences with the audience. An all-day ticket to the fair costs 99 crowns, for all three days of the Festiwall it costs 490 crowns in advance.
The Festiwall project has existed since 2016. During that time, it has presented dozens of concerts and workshops as well as hundreds of musical instruments. So far, the accompanying event has had a bigger response every year, until this year it turned into a fair.
