The winners of the last two years will start at the EŽ Prague Golden Cup
On September 11, the horse racing season continues in the Chuchli Arena Prague with a single chapter, during which spectators can see steeplechase races on the metropolitan scene, in addition to the six straight races, a pair of races over wicker obstacles are created.
The highlight of the program, the 16th Golden Cup of Elektrizace železnik Praha, with a distance of 4,200 meters and a price of CZK 360,000, the longest and richest Czech race over light jumps, will be used by five actors, including stablemates Sternkranz and Capivari, who dominated the last two years.
Both Italian owner Josef Aichner and his Scuderia Aichner SRL have a great chance to become the first team to achieve a hat-trick in this race. However, there will be three opponents, and especially two of them can spoil the historical record. KK Metal Stuke’s own broodmare has already won twelve races in his career, including the top Gran Corsa Siepi D’Italia and Di Merano, and after a year’s health break, he warmed up three weeks ago in a smaller flat race in Senica, the winner of the previous year’s Spring Grand Prix Rate after a very successful flat part of his career, he switched to hurdles this year and from all three appearances on the French tracks, he brought subsidized places. The only actor whose success in this competition would be a surprise is Dumon Roclay, the most winless representative of the sponsor of the race.
Another audience magnet will be the comeback of Josef Bartoš, three-time winner of the Velká Pardubická and more than hundreds of other top-class races, multiple winner in the Czech Republic and Italy, as well as almost eight hundred triumphs of the most successful historical Czech hurdles. The jockey returns to the saddle after a three-month break caused by injury and before the start in both jumping items of the program, he will also perform in the flat race. His rivals in the EŽ Prague Golden Cup also belong to the absolute top of the cup, Lukáš Matuský and Pavel Složil Jr. won the last two years of Velká Pardubická, Marcel Novák is a two-time and Jaroslav Myška even a five-time Czech champion.
The start of the first race is at 2:00 p.m., the Chuchle Arena Prague will be open from noon.
