Bahnhofsviertel out of control – politicians see a need for action
The station district in Frankfurt is out of control. In order to improve the situation, the police hold politicians accountable.
The conditions in the station district in Frankfurt are worse than ever. Not a day goes by that the area doesn’t come up in police reports, mostly for robberies. The new chief of police, Stefan Müller, will take on the issue and wait for the support of the city government. Because preventing the proclamation of the people there is not the job of the police.
Frankfurt station district: Health department complains of inactivity
Security department head Annette Rinn (FDP) has not yet commented on the station district. More public toilets are needed there, she recently demanded. Health department head Stefan Majer (Greens) accuses the CDU of inaction. The opposition party demands that the Frankfurt way should be further developed. Majer complains that the municipalities “urgently need greater legal leeway to test new ways of treatment and substitution in dealing with crack”. Tailwind is hoped for from the first international crack conference on October 4th in Frankfurt. (Annotation)
The Frankfurt train station district is popular with tourists due to its complexity. As a hotbed of crime and prostitution, however, it has also repeatedly been the subject of controversy.
