The 38 migrants in Evros are shocking: the Turks were pushing us to Greece – Newsbomb – News
The testimonies on ANT1, of some of the 38 migrants they had spotted on an island in Evros, are shocking.
Some of them 38 migrants who were stranded on an island in Evros and were located a little later on the Greek side and are temporarily hosted at reception and identification center at the Outpost in Evros, they spoke to the ANT1 camera.
Among other things, they talked about practices of the Turksin the instrumentalization of human suffering, but also the death of the 4-year-old when they were on the island.
THE Alabud Nada, the pregnant woman who was among them declared that both she and her child were in good health.
They speak for the first time in Greek television and they describe to the ANT1 camera, how the Turks took them to the banks of the Evros, put them in boats and pushed them towards the Greek border.
“In the beginning, the Turks brought us to the edge of the river, crossed us to an island and from the other islet they crossed us into Greek territory” cites a testimony. Another man describes characteristically how “they put us aside in the river and we waited there at night for about two hours not knowing what to expect and then they put us in the boats and started pushing us.”
Even one shocking testimony describes how “they put the families and the elderly in inflatable boats and took them and the men and threw them in the river and told us to swim to Greece.”
For many of the immigrants, it was not the first attempt to enter Greece, On July 14 the Turks pushed them from the banks of the Evros into the country for the first time, failed and returned.
On July 22, for the second time. Then they reached an island and from there they talked to a lawyer and an NGO who gave them instructions, they say.
They report on the 4-year-old girl who got sick and died from a bite on the islandhow they didn’t know what bit the little girl. As described by Adnan Alabdala, an asylum seeker: “The incident with the little girl happened at 6 in the evening. It was stung by something I don’t know what it is and some people went and helped it because they knew what to do with the sting. I did not see the grave because I had my child in my arms and the other was holding his hand and they buried him at a distance. while another one of the immigrants states that “the parents did not bury the child but 4 young men took him and buried the child”.
And the 38 immigrants have applied for asylum and in the coming days to be transferred to structures inland,
THE accommodation in the structures it is not mandatory as they will have the asylum seeker’s card.
