The Prague municipality plans to start so-called cooperative housing projects on five city plots. The city councilors discussed the selection of two plots of land in Michla and one each in Vysočany, Lipenice and Libno on Monday, but they postponed the decision for now and the matter will be discussed again at the meeting next week.
The city is planning two construction models, in the first association its members will establish themselves and provide the construction themselves. In the second city, he chooses a development company and subsequently establishes an association to which he selects members.
The federal housing project is based on the model of the German so-called baugruppe, which is mainly used for the construction of smaller apartment buildings on city plots. According to earlier information, around 160 apartments are to be built on the first five parcels.
On three of them, the city wants to proceed according to the first model, i.e. providing land to associations founded by Prague residents. For the remaining two, construction would be administered by the city.
The largest of the selected plots is located in U Plynárny street in Michli, it has an area of 11,319 square meters. There is also a second plot of land with an area of 3180 square meters in Michli, namely in Ohradní street. The plot in Libni in Budínova Street has 2324 square meters and in Vysočanská Street in Prague 9, construction is possible on 3246 square meters. The last lot in Lipenice has 1107 square meters.
The municipality has already approved similar support, under which cooperative apartment buildings are to be built on municipal land. The first should be built in Radlická street in Prague 5, the city has already approved it. The support of cooperative and association housing is calculated on the fact that the city will provide its land for the construction of an apartment building through the so-called right of construction for up to 99 years. In both cases, the subjects of the municipality will buy the land only after paying off the house itself.
