Prague 14 is organizing the VOLNOFEST festival again this year, at which local non-profit organizations, associations and sports clubs annually present a varied offer of clubs and other leisure activities. The popular event, which is visited by over a thousand people every year, will take place on Saturday, September 17 from 1 to 7 p.m. in U Čeňku Park.
Visitors will be able to try individual activities on site. In this way, they get a better idea not only of the local offer itself, but also of what interest groups or sports activities they might enjoy. The festival is primarily aimed at children, but adults will also enjoy themselves. The accompanying program includes, for example, exhibitions with dogs, dance performances, performances by cheerleaders or demonstrations of taekwon-do and aerobics.
All activities at this year’s VOLNOFEST will be linked by a single competition that will take place throughout the area. Most organizations have a prepared activity for the children to try on the spot at the organization’s stand, and its fulfillment will then be recorded on the competition card. Collect 10 records to get rewards. Playing cards and rewards will be issued at the info booth in Prague 14 next to the entrance gate.

A new addition to the event is a separate sidewalk painting competition. It will take place on the pavement on the oval. It is organized by the non-profit organization “14 – center of free time”.
A musical performance by the Botox band has been prepared, and the Great Theater Fairy Tale and a dynamic demonstration of police intervention will be on display. A stilt walker will show his skills. Children will enjoy face painting, a bouncy castle and cotton candy at the Černý Most Center stand. There will be a wide range of refreshments. Just like last year, people will have returnable (backup) cups with motifs of landmarks of Prague 14 at their disposal.
Volnofest, although it was originally called something else (A town of leisure activities, author’s note), it has old traditions. “It is increasingly popular, especially among families with children, and it has a strong place in the September calendar of events. The main benefit follows from the very essence of the event. Since these are interactive offers of local non-profit organizations, various visitors can try sports, dance, creative workshops and other leisure activities for themselves – and simply find out what they like and what they can do,” said the 1st Deputy Mayor of Prague 14, Zuzana Jelenová (STAN).
