Prague has a shortage of places in schools. Districts have opened new classes since September
In the pavilion built this year the schools in Kolovrat are for about 120 pupils the second level of the general class and two specialist classes for the teaching of chemistry and physics and for the teaching of languages and informatics. According to Mayor Klecanda, the cost of building a wooden building and equipping new school premises was 28 million crowns including VAT. The construction, carried out by Urbiosisto, took nine months. The primary school in Kolovrate had only the first grade until 2020, after which the sixth and seventh grades were added thanks to the extension.
The first preschoolers are now attending a new four-class kindergarten in Prague 18 in Škarvadova street. The two-story building was built for about 68.8 million crowns by Pradast according to the project of architect Radek Janošík. Oáza Kindergarten in Prague 12 now also has two new classes. The capacity of the kindergarten thus increased from the original 112 to 168 children. According to mayor Jan Adamek (Pirates), the kindergarten has expanded into the space where some of the city hall’s unions used to be located. According to the mayor, the reconstruction of the building in Čechtická Street cost the town hall 13.3 million crowns.
From Monday, Praha 22 manages the building in Prague’s Královice. The town hall opened classes for preschoolers in it. According to Mayor Kaněra, the classrooms are a detached workplace established by the City Hall of the Sunny Kindergarten. “Although the building is not located directly in Uhříněvsi, it is definitely closer and easier to access than taking children to kindergartens in Ríčan or Prague,” said Kaněra.
There is currently a shortage of places for preschoolers in Uhříněves. The town hall is now building a multi-functional building in Pitkovice, which will also house a kindergarten for 112 children. The house was supposed to be finished this year, but according to the mayor, construction will be delayed by a year. According to his earlier statement, the reason is the transition of the contractor company Raeder & Falge into insolvency. The company had to build a building with educational facilities, surgeries and a grocery store for about 105 million.
