Index – Homeland – A golden wonder deer is being built in Budapest, this is what it will look like
Gábor Miklós Szőke’s name may be familiar, among other things, from the fact that he created the sculpture made of 10 tons of fallen antlers at last year’s World Hunting Exhibition. this Money Museum also has a 13-meter-long, 13-ton sculptural installation reminiscent of gold bars.
The sculptor has now posted on Facebook about the visual plans for a golden Wonder Deer statue, and also writes as a fact that that work will soon be erected in front of the Money Museum operated by the Hungarian National Bank.
This is what my Miracle Deer statue will look like, which will soon rise into the sky from the garden of the beautiful Art Nouveau building of the former Post Office, now known as the Buda Palace
– wrote the sculptor, adding: “I imagine the spirit-guiding animal of the Hungarians on top of a bronze rock, that I created the body of a deer, from thousands of bent “golden fur plates”, intertwining with the sky and shining like a constellation at night.”
Miklós Gábor Szőke has previously published several posts about this statue, which indicate that the work has almost been completed. First on July 21st posted a picturethen – as mentioned in the current post – he showed a bronze rock, without any further explanation.
After that, on August 16, he also published the deer statue, which at that time – as evidenced by the picture – it’s mostly already done. Finally, on September 1st, he posted about how the work would look at night (at that time, however, it was not possible to know exactly where this sculpture would stand).
However, on Tuesday, lovers of precious metals will be able to enjoy not only a golden Miracle Deer, but also a gold commemorative coin, we wrote more about this here.
