Fast lane with 80 km/h and special ramp. Prague presented further modifications to the Barrandovský bridge
Fast lane even this year
In this case, it is only a modification of the traffic signs, but a more significant modification is also planned. The city is planning to build a completely new ramp, which should help with the morning congestion on the very busy Strakonická street towards the center. “We will build a new separate ramp for cars coming from Strakonická that need to get to the Barrandovský bridge. Thanks to this, we will significantly reduce the number of intersections that drivers will not have to pass through so that they can comfortably continue on the Barrandovský bridge to the South Junction and on to the D1,” wrote Scheinherr, adding that simply the bridge construction will increase the bridge’s capacity and safety, because no one will have to cross from one lane to another.
Along with the text, Scheinherr also published four visualizations on Facebook, i.e. two regarding the location of the fast lane and two that show how the new ramp connecting Strakonická with the South Junction should look like. You can find the post at this link.
