“Different people” draw the viewer-listener into the plot
Soldier, volunteer, priest, mother, father, grandmother and many more. They are different but similar in their desire for happiness. The stories of real Ukrainians whose lives were affected by the war can be heard by participants of the audiowalk at the Main Railway Station in Prague. Co-production project of immersive theater take from Kiev AND Municipal theaters of Prague will be seen by the Czech audience for the first time September 10th.
They are not fictional characters, but real people with their daily habits, opinions and dreams. One day the decision had to be reversed whether they would stay in their homes under fire or leave the threatened areas. The texts were created on the basis of more than 20 hours of interviews with ordinary residents of Ukraine, whose lives were fundamentally changed by the war.
Viewers will not witness the horrors of war that fill the media space. He will only hear fragments of the various personal statements of which it is composed one great story of the human desire for happiness. Thanks to the audiowalk, they will be drawn right into the center of the action, in the normal hustle and bustle of the train station, the hub of all those fleeing, arriving and departing, they can experience this liminal situation for themselves. Together with the characters of the plot, they will pass between ticket offices, waiting rooms, other passengers and up to the platform. And then it’s up to everyone where to go next. Everyone has to choose their own path.
Audiowalk, a form of immersive theater, takes place in the premises of the Main Railway Station in Prague. Individual installations are ready for normal operation. The stops are accompanied by snippets of conversations that each viewer will hear through headphones.
Audiowalk Rizni / Different people was prepared by the creative group grab which is a pioneer of this genre in Ukraine. The authors are screenwriters Anna Bílenka, Roman Varydová and playwright Jurij Solonec. The director of the project is Polina Baranichenko. The co-production is part of the long-term program of the Municipal Theaters of Prague IMAGINE UAwhich supports Ukrainian artists in the Czech Republic and Ukraine.
Tickets for the audiowalk can be purchased at the central box office of the Municipal Theaters of Prague or online at the MDP website. It is no longer possible to purchase at the venue.
