Incredible claims from Turkey: Greece owns 20 Turkish islands in the Aegean – Newsbomb – News
The Turkish media maintain the tension in Greek-Turkish – New propaganda cover page, this time from Sozcu newspaper
There is no end to Turkish propaganda which is reproduced by the domestic media. This time the baton of absurdity was taken by the newspaper Sozcu, which christens Greek as “Turkish” and even talks about their occupation by Greece.
“The 23 islands given to Greece in 1913 and 1923 were militarized despite their civilian status. Also, 20 Turkish islands and two islets of the provincial administrations of Aydin, Mugla and Smyrna were also occupied by Greece”, the newspaper emphasizes in its article.
“Sozcu has brought the Greek occupation of the islands to its agenda Turkey for eight years since 2014. However, the AKP government remained silent on this issue for years. All this until the recent speech of President Tayyip Erdoğan in Samsuda, who for the first time admitted that they are under Greek occupation”.
The Turkish newspaper doesn’t stop there, then reporting information about the military forces that exist over the Greek, even talking about a violation of the demilitarized regime.
“In 2004 the MP of the opposition Republican People’s Party, (CHP) Onur Youmen raised the question whether Greece placed the Greek flag belonged to Turkey. No answer was given. Erdoğan after 18 years answered the question, after admitting that Greece invaded our islands” the former Secretary General of the Ministry of National Defense Yalım defiantly told the newspaper. Olim stated that Greece started to offer since 2009.
In fact, he cited Gaidoronisi as a typical example. “In 2009, during the visit of the Greek President Karolos Papoulia to Gaidoronisi (January 6, 2009), the inscription “Town Hall” was posted. Thus, it was documented that Athens annexed the island that belongs to the province of Aidini,” he said.
