Dukla’s men and USK’s women defended their titles at the team athletics championship

Cheb – Dukla Praha athletes defended last year’s first place in the team championship with a great advantage and won the 61st title in history, in the women’s competition they repeated the victory of USK Praha athletes. The men’s team from Juliska triumphed in Cheb on Sunday with a ninety-point victory over the University of Brno, the team from Kladno finished third. The USK women dominated the final of the extra league for the 32nd time and left their rivals from Pilsen and Olymp Brno behind.
At the end of the season, this season’s athletes took care of the six best Czech performances of the season. Lada Vondrová ran the 200 in a personal record of 23.28 seconds and in addition contributed to the success of USK by winning on her main track on Thursday and was a member of both winning relays. Her teammate Jana Novotná jumped a distance of 633 cm, Vít Müller from the winning Dukla team improved this year’s Czech maximum in the 400-meter hurdles to 49.61, Pilsen’s high jumper Josef Adámek jumped 223 cm, and the fastest times were also recorded by the two winners of Eliška’s walking five Martínková and Vít Hlaváč.
In addition to Vondrová, a winning double in individual disciplines was achieved by three athletes from Olymp Prague. Radek Juška won the distance and triple jump, Filip Sasínek finished first in the 1500 and 5000 meters, and his partner Kristiina Mäki was also successful on the same tracks.
By winning the team title, pole vaulter Jan Kudlička said goodbye to his career. The 38-year-old Czech record holder, who completed his official farewell in Opava at the end of August, had the only successful attempt in the competition, when he jumped over his basic height of five meters for the third time, and finished fourth. Matěj Ščerba from Brno won with a performance of 539 cm.
