The lack of drivers in Prague and the surrounding area continues, over one hundred and thirty connections will not run
The biggest cuts will affect the bus connection to Horní Počernice.
Passengers in Prague and the surrounding area can expect further reductions in bus connections in the Prague Integrated Transport (PID) system tomorrow. Transport organizer Ropid announced this evening that over 130 services will not be running tomorrow. These are the lines of the carriers Arriva City and ČSAD Central Bohemia. The reason is the lack of drivers.
The cuts in the timetable were published by Ropid on your pages. These are specifically lines 155, 163, 166, 204, 208, 223, 224, 228, 346, 377. The biggest cuts will affect line 223 between Černý Most and Horní Počernice. The line is operated by Arriva City.
Already last week, dozens of connections were canceled due to a lack of drivers for both carriers. “According to information from the carriers, the situation should at least partially stabilize from September 5.” said Ropid spokesman Filip Drápal last week. Finally one more time.
“Due to the poor situation on the labor market and higher morbidity, we are missing five drivers. We have a number of additional drivers during today but we need to train them on the routes they will be driving and learn how to pick up passengers.” said Arrival spokesman Jan Holub last week.
The lack of drivers affects most carriers. “Despite salaries, which have been increasing annually and regularly in recent years, and we will now make another increase, we have not been able to attract new applicants to the steering wheel for a long time due to the depleted labor market. We will pay the driving school for them. The closed Ukrainian borders also have their share in this,” Holub pointed out.
