How long will this situation last? Expelled from the former Ehpad des Tourelles west of Toulouse at the end of last week, dozens of immigrants had since taken refuge in the city center of the pink cityat the level of alley Jules Guesde. A strong tension had surrounded this evacuation with in particular the intervention of about forty CRS trucks.
“We are not criminals. We are minors. I don’t know a place to go, I’ve been here for five months. I come from Guinea. I arrived in France because things are not going well in my country and in my family”, explained a teenager on the spot.
Head to Bellefontaine College
Installed for several days in the streets of the city center, the dozens of migrants took the direction of the college of Bellefontaine this Sunday August 3, 2022. “We need collective accommodation”, they wrote on a large sheet placed on one of the school gates.
Many residents of the neighborhood and surrounding areas are currently on site to show their support for the dozens of refugees.
Law enforcement on site
The police intervene quickly on the scene. “We note their presence, pending a decision from the required authorities”, indicates a police source to Actu Toulouse.
For the time being status quo around the establishment.
