“There won’t be any donuts,” Vojtková tells all diggers and Internet pranksters and adds with a smile: “We have prepared plums or apples in their natural raw form for those interested.” Although with plum and calvados I would probably succeed at Žižkov.”
The central slogan of the Coalition for Prague 3 campaign is “Because I care about the Troika”. The priorities are increasing safety in the streets, quality education, the fight against skyrocketing energy prices and the care of public spaces and courtyards.
“Emotional safety, according to many women and mothers, is coming in the lower part of Žižkov and Jarov. Citizens in the new buildings in Vackovo are troubled by petty crime, burglaries of cellars and cars. On the contrary, in Vinohrady I want to focus on repairing sidewalks, taking care of public space and courtyards,” continues Vojtková.
According to the leader candidate, she will also please all Žižková residents, because she loves alternative culture. He listens to punk, rock and loves the genius of this neighborhood. “I will do my best to preserve this history.”
A major topic of the Coalition for Prague 3 is improving the traffic situation and coordinating repairs. “Repeatedly it happened that the main artery and bypass routes were dug up. People will then find themselves in a traffic trap,” Filip Nekola, another candidate, criticizes the traffic policy. At the same time, it is a problem that the streets are filled with concrete roadblocks and balisets.
“Instead, parking spaces for scooters, bicycles or mopeds could be created in these reserved places. Space is a rare commodity in our district, we cannot waste it,” he adds.
The leader for KDU – ČSL is Antonín Homola. He wants the support of associations, churches, non-profit organizations and neighborhood projects to be improved. According to him, emphasis should also be placed on the issue of rising energy prices.
Today, the candidates of the Coalition for Prague 3 will be at Jiřího z Poděbrady Square and on Sunday, September 4, at Vítkov, Parukářka and Pražačka.
