Luca Guadagnino receives the “A Tribute to… Award” at the 18th Zurich Film Festival.
The Italian director and screenwriter will receive the honorary award at the gala premiere of his new film “Bones and All”. So it said on Thursday in a communiqué.
His film “Call Me by Your Name” (2017): A romantic drama about an affair between a teenager and a 24-year-old. The strip was a worldwide success.
Now Luca Guadagnino tells in “Bones and All” again about a love. This time between young misfit Maren (Taylor Russell) and tramp Lee (Timothée Chalamet).
This year’s A Tribute to… Awards is: “A filmmaker who tells incredibly strong visual stories and keeps surprising the wearer.” Christian Jungs, artistic director of the ZFF, is quoted in the media release.
«With his unmistakable style, the European director has also made a name for himself overseas. He is at the peak of his creativity.”
The award will be presented in person on September 30th. Guadagnino will also host a public ZFF Masters on October 1st.
