Angela Gerekou: Greece can become a world center of cultural tourism
The president of EOT, Angela Gerekou, referred to the excellent, as he described it, tourist season that the country is going through, during the 2nd Digital Beach Summit, in Monolithi Preveza.
Mrs. Grekou referred to the importance of not losing the opportunity created by the excellent course of tourism, stressing that the “quantity available to the country should respond to the quality”.
And she appeared optimistic that Greece will succeed in becoming a world center of cultural tourism. In fact, he added that the goal of the EOT is to highlight areas that are not particularly well known for tourism.
Mr. Michalis Dritsas from ELEVATEGREECE, Dr. Ioannis Pappas Mediterranean Director of the World Sustainable Tourism Council and Dimitris Iovanos Representative of Local Sustainable Tourism.
Earlier, the General Secretary of Spatial Planning and Urban Environment, Efthimios Bakoyannis, mentioned the “Konstantinos Doxiadis” program that has joined the Recovery and Resilience Fund.
In particular, he emphasized that this new program will help the development of many areas through new urban plans and changes in urban policy.
The above program, as he mentioned, will solve environmental problems, the non-rational organization of space and anarchic construction.
While, in closing, he emphasized that 145 studies and two of the four axes have already started, while by the end of 2023, when 100% of the studies have been contracted.
