The USA will be the guest of honor at the 31st Budapest Wine Festival
More international brands than ever before and wines from all Hungarian wine regions can be tasted between September 8 and 11 in the courtyards and terraces of the Budavári Palace at the 31st Budapest Wine Festival, whose country of honor will be the United States.
With the progress of the reconstruction of the Budavári Palace, the Wine Festival will be held in a larger area than ever before: exhibitors and visitors can once again take possession of the eastern terraces, and even the Csikós courtyard and the rebuilt ramp there – said Rita Oláh and Antal Oláh at the event’s press conference in Budapest on Thursday Gábor are the main organizers.
Zoltán Zilai, managing director of Magyar Szőlő- és Borkultúra Nonprofit Kft., which organizes the Wine Festival, added that the entrance ticket also includes a free tasting ticket, but they also prepare a number of games and programs.
For example, the Wine Festival All-Stars program makes available award-winning items from Hungarian and international wine competitions, and in the Nébih Borkvíz Bar, the National Food Chain Safety Office organizes games promoting conscious and moderate consumption.
The Wine Festival Premier program draws attention to wines that make their debut at the event, and the VinAgora House of Discoveries selects products from smaller, family-owned wineries that do not exhibit at stand-alone stands.
Many people are familiar with the wines of the United States, but the Wine Festival offers a wide range of them as well: visitors can get to know producers from the states of California, Oregon and Washington, said Zoltán Zilai.
As he added, the two stages of the Wine Festival offer more than thirty productions in countless genres to those who want to have fun, Sena, Canarro, Los Orangutanes, Jazzbois, Kodály Spicy Jazz and Jazzy DJ will perform among others.
Márk Maczelka, communications manager of SPAR Magyarország Kereskedelmi Kft., as the main sponsor of the Wine Festival, SPAR will participate in the event with its own stand, but they have also launched promotions related to the event.
Richárd Andrejszki, the owner-manager of Chefmarket, said that there are five restaurants offering gourmet dishes – Arany Kaviár, FELIX Kitchen & Bar, Yama Budapest, Bobajka, as well as Viktor Segal’s Szigliget kitchen, Vulcanus. Guests can taste Cellar and Wine Terrace dishes, as well as organic wines and champagnes.
