Index – Domestic – Attention, Budapest public transport and blitzing are getting more expensive from today
From September 1, 2022, i.e. from today, the price of some types of tickets on public transport in Budapest will increase. The Budapest Transport Center (BKK) also noted that from Thursday it is better to buy a ticket or pass instead of blitzing.
Since 2013, BKK and its ticket prices have not recorded that public transport has continuously increased, but most of it was necessary in order to reduce the lack of funds, the company said. From September 1, a 24-hour ticket will cost HUF 2,500 instead of HUF 1,650, the price of a group 24-hour ticket will increase from HUF 3,300 to HUF 5,000, a 72-hour ticket will increase from HUF 4,150 to HUF 5,500, and a weekly ticket will increase from HUF 4,950 to HUF 6,500. Apart from those listed, the price of no other tickets and passes will change, BKK wrote.
Flashing is also getting more expensive
From today, the amounts imposed during the surcharge will also change. The on-site surcharge will increase from the current HUF 8,000 to HUF 12,000, the surcharge paid within 30 days will rise from HUF 16,000 to HUF 25,000, and the surcharge paid after 30 days will change from HUF 32,000 to HUF 50,000. In the case of additional fees paid beyond 30 days, the BKK will waive the HUF 500 processing fee added to the costs in the future.
BKK cancels or combines with other products those tickets and passes for which there is little demand. There are also some of which have not been sold in recent years. About the changes by clicking here you can find out.
